Simba Junior 2 --- Simba's Videogames, LTD
Move over Dendy! Over the duration of the last few years, something big has hit Russia and it's here to stay. Simba's Videogames, LTD, has released a brand new Famiclone known as Simba Junior 2. Finally a little competition in the Russian game market.
Although the box boasts of High Image Quality and a Sound Synthesizer, this is just a bunch of hogwash. What comes in the package? The Simba's Junior 2 package includes the following: two joypads, one realistic-looking lightgun, and the hookups needed to use your new console. The one disadvantage is that Simbas Junior 2 will only work on a PAL TV, unless you have the proper converters.
Simbas Junior 2 will run any Famicom game, you will need some sort of adapter to play regular Nintendo games. If Famicom games are readily available in your location, then this will not be a problem. Another flaw of the Simba Junior 2 is that the eject button does not work very well. If you want to eject the game that you are playing, you have to put an extreme force on it, enough to damage your carts.
Overall, I like Simbas Junior 2. I like the compact design, the nicer looking gun. However, my final thoughts are that the box is too misleading. A music synthesizer is not included, and this system does not improve the NES graphics. Oh, and whay is there a football player on Simbas Junior 2's box? I still cannot figure that one out.
