RBI Baseball --- Tengen

My god what a game. Everyone knows it, almost everyone loves it. One of the better NES multiplayer games and in my opinion, the best Baseball game available for the NES. You don't really think realistic when you imagine an NES Baseball sim, but that's exactly what RBI Baseball is. It was an official MLB licensed game and sports eight actual teams and two national teams, all using actual players from the 1986-1987 season. The players even have playing stats from real life.

The game was originally designed for the Famicom and was called Family Stadium. Among the workers of Tengen, there was a unamed San Francisco Giants fan whom programmed in one of the Giants slogans into the game. Only recently I learned that this wasn't common knowledge... So where is this wonder? At the title screen, hold down A+B+START. Not only does it say the slogan, it has 'The Coaching Staff'' listed. Rad, eh?

I enjoyed the controls very, very much. You can do practically everything, from a fastball to a knuckleball, it's all possible. I found the game hard to win against the computer however, but than again, that's what makes it challenging, right?

Overall, this game is a gem. This review need say no more, it is priceless. Excellent controls, great selection of teams and shitty-ass music all make this a classic.

I give it a 8/10.

Bad points: Music, out-fielders waaaaay too slow.
