Bible Time Voyager
In the fall of 2004, I had started my first semester of college. Since I didn't know too many people at the time, I found other ways to entertain myself. Shopping was a must (though I spent too much money, money that I didn't have to begin with). On sunny days, I would take a slow walk down into town. Once I got there, I would check out the local thrift shop, looking for Nintendo games and CDs. After I was done, I would slowly walk back to the college campus, stop into the gas station and buy a 20 oz bottle of [the now discontinued] Mountain Dew: Pitch Black soda, and amuse myself with my latest purchases. On rainy days I would surf the eBay keeping my eye out for Nintendo stuff. That's when I obtained my Bible Time Voyager game unit.
I had discovered the existence of the Bible Time Voyager a few years ago. I had wanted one since I discovered it, but I did not want to pay $50 for the unit. Only one online store seemed to carry the Bible Time Voyager, and it [the BTV] quickly dropped from my memory. On one of my rainy day shopping adventures, I saw someone selling a Bible Time Voyager unit for around $4 USD. I contemplated buying the thing, since I was a bit broke at the time. However I figured that I might not get another chance to buy one of these for such a cheap price, so I grabbed the thing. $10 later and after an eternity of waiting, I finally got my Bible Time Voyager game console.
The Bible Time Voyager is just like its predecessor, the Game Station Arcade. Unlike the Arcade, this unit is a translucent purple color. The Bible Time Voyager contains the seven Wisdom Tree titles: Sunday Funday, Bible Buffet, Bible Adventures, The King of Kings, Spiritual Warfare, Joshua and Exodus. The games are all selected by a spiffy menu, all emulated copies of the original Nintendo games.
I really don't see much point in buying the Bible Time Voyager. All of the games are readily available on Nintendo format, and none of them are extremely hard to find. The unit is expensive for a collector, though the purchase might be worth it for a Sunday school teacher.
