Castle of Deceit --------------------------------------------- Castle of Deceit I. Introduction At the top of Mount Althus lies an ancient, brooding castle, the Castle of Deceit. It served as a gateway to six other universes and dimensions. At the center of the castle rests six magical stones, the Runes of Guarding. The Runes were guarded by Phylax, a mystic Emerald Magic. He dwelled within the energies created by interaction of the stones century after century until at last it drove him insane. The power of stones gave life to the hallucinations of his madness, thus creating six deadly beings which stole the runes and fled to the six universes. Introduction (Continued) It is your duty as Eebo, the most promising of the young Magicians of Dace, to collect the Runes. In order to do this, you must enter the castle and embark on a journey through a tracherous maze of deceit and illusion, danger, traps, magic, and monsters. As time folds back upon itself, matter from the six dimensions blend, mutate, and regenerate to create wondrous lif forms of extraordinary and devestating power. What you see and what you hear may all be a lie. Look for help in obscure and inaccessible places. Find the heart of the castle, center of the gateway, but be wary of Phylax for he remains there, faithful, but insane. Counter his magic with yours, and if you succeed, he will return to his own dimension and the Runes will return to their proper places. If you fail, it spells the end for six universes and all its inhabitants. --------------------------------------------- Precautions 1) Store at room temperature. Dangerous Life Forms Mantascorp: Combining the venom of a giant scorpion with the floating motion ofa manta ray, whether underwater or borne in the winds, the mantascorp is highly dangerous. Minidragon: A small but vicious relative of the dreaded Silver Dragon of Serranoth, its bite is poisonous. Gyros: Spinning skulls with deadly powers, they go out of control when wounded. Doorwraiths: Often found lurking near major portal, these spirits guard doorways, passages, and objects of power. Arachnistalkers: Predominant lifeforms among the ruins of Anthgar. The wise traveler does not frequent these places, but if you must, keep vigilant. Webblings: Although web-bound, the young of the arachnistalkers are as dangerous as the mobile adults. Every web clinging to the crumbling rock is a potential deathtrap. Smoodgen: Harbinger of bad luck, these crenelated crawlers are much feared by the population of Althus. Part of their reputation is due to the excruciatingly painful sting they administer. --------------------------------------------- IV. Dangerous Life Forms (Continued) Lunar Moth: The most persistently malevolent lifeform on a planet known for its inhospitality, the lunar moth is deceptive in its beauty. Sine: An experienced hunter, its advanced sonar and visual tracking systems allow it to triangulate the position of its potential victims with extreme accuracy. Cosine: A tangential branch of the sine species with somewhat different characteristics. It is hazardous to approach. Flit: A variety of giant dragonflies genetically engineered to combat the Sine of the Four Homes. It showed no interest in doing so and prefers to dine on unwary humanoids. Bifocal Watchers: Generally used in pairs, these creatures are perfect sentries. They stay at their posts despite any provocation. Sillonian Hydron: Unlike the fabled Sea Serpent of Terra, the Sillonian Hydra of Aragain is real. Genetically engineered to be a defense on the water. --------------------------------------------- IV. Dangerous Life Forms (Continued) Mister Deadly Fingers: The lethal claw of the Manumort, a scaly predator from the Planet of Storms. Designer Shades: Death comes in two fashion shades this year, pusillanimous pink and bellicose blue. Idolettes (Rotating And Flying): Roadies for the touring production of "Idyll of the Four Winds." Floating Night Sails: The flora and fauna of the Underwater World of Poseidon creates an intricate pattern of light and shadow, of color and sound. Cold Fish: A denizen from the deep, frigid springs that feed the Underwater World of Poseidon. Leaker: A deadly drip off the old block (lava block), the Leaker is animate, walking lava with an average internal temperature of 2107 degrees Fahrenheit. --------------------------------------------- IV. Dangerous Life Forms (Continued) Excitable-Ignitable Rock: This peculiar lifeform is the main building material of certain semi-molten planets. Its unbridled enthusiasm for companionship occasionally causes it to explode with pure pleasure when visitors appear. Ocularions: From the searing world of Ocularia, the fire in the eyes of these creatures would seem to negate any possibility of warmth in their hearts. Myrmeleon: An example of the deadly recombinations that occur without the protective force of the Rune Stones. Gorfian Frog And Frog Tank: The pride of the amphibian planet of Gorfia, the Gorfian Attack Force, both its Armored Division and its Red Infantry, are fabled for their ferocity in battle. Phoestro: Fevered remembrance of a childhood pet Phylax love, the Phoestro is a mixed breed looking somewhat like the fabled phoenix. --------------------------------------------- Compliance With FCC Regulations --------------------------------------------- 90 Day Limited Warranty --------------------------------------------- Castle of Deceit Evaluation Sheet --------------------------------------------- Typed by TRM http://www.planetnintendo.com/thewarpzone email: drta04@yahoo.com ---------------------------------------------
