King Kong 2 --- Konami
A few days ago, my friend Ickdoggit offered to trade me his copy of King Kong 2: The King Lives for my copy of Crusin Exotica for Gameboy Color. I accepted the deal and a few days later my Famicom cart had arrived. Although I wwasn't sure what the game would be like, I figured it would be good since it was manufactured by Konami.
Do you ever play the arcade game Rampage? Add a few RPG elements, such as items and a top screen view, and you've played King Kong 2. The Kong Lives is not an RPG persae, though it does have several of the elements of an RPG.
King Kong runs around a huge overworld where a variety of enemies attack him. Some of the foes he faces are fire rings and blobs. Kong manuevers through the worlds in search of secret weapons, potions, and passage ways. While this is going on, King Kong must defeate his enemies with his bare paws. Kong can also chuck rocks at his enemies, that is if he has collected any.
For a game made in 1986, Konami's The Kong Lives game seems to be pretty fun. Although the music is not as good as some of Konami's later scores (Castlevania 3 for example), it is pretty good for a 1986 release. The Kong Lives is a fun game that you might want to check out. It's a bit below some of Konami's other games, though a game company has to start somewhere, right?
