Double Player Controllers --- Acclaim
I had once read about The Double Player Wireless Head-To-Head System (from now on refered to as (TDWHTHS) on a NES webpage years ago. The guy running the site had a picture of the controllers snagged from a magazine add and he had said that he thought they went unreleased. I had thought I remembered seeing these controllers, myself, at one time though it was too long ago to validate their existance.
Years later I walked into Funcoland and I saw a loose set of these controllers lying in a bin and I quickly purchased them. A few months later I saw a boxed set of TDWHTHS so I decided to buy it as well. Now I have two sets of TDWHTHS so let's see what I have to say about the controllers themselves.
Personally I've never seen what was so cool about wireless NES controllers. On my PC I use a wireless mouse and I almost always regret having it when the batteries run out. TDWHTHS is the same way. For a wireless controller, it may be really nice, though it is a battery hog. One controller takes four batteries alone, if you want to play your friend head to head you need eight batteries. Unless you work for Duracell, this controller is not very cost efficent :P
A few other special features on the TDWHTHS controllers are as follows: 1/2 Player Switch, Slow Motion and Rapid Fire buttons. Even so, the NES Advantage has most of those advantages. I would avoid TDWHTHS due to the battery problem alone. Unless you want to lay on the couch with you woman while playing NES, TDWHTHS doesn't have enough benefits to make it worth your while.
