Pesterminator seems like a lousy Color Dreams game at first glance. However, the game improves after the first few stages. Stages 1 through 4, 6, and 8 are ordinary bug-squashing stages. These stages are slow paced and boring. The object in each stage is to exterminate all of the bugs on that particular level. Stage 8 is the best of these stages, creating a puzzle element to go along with the ordinary task of squashing bugs.
The game really shines with stages 5 and 7 though. In stage 5 you pilot a helicopter while shooting bugs. In stage 7, you swim around in an ocean and shoot pests including fish and trash. These two stages are the best stages in the game.
Pesterminator is not the best of games, though it isn't the worst of games either. Besides, the game features the Western Exterminator's mascot. So it can't be that bad, seriously.
Little known fact: The initials for the team behind Pesterminator are carefully hidden on the sewer/warehouse stage (stage 3). The initials included are KHB (Ken Beckett), DB (Dan Burke), JT (Jim Treadway) and JV (Jon Valesh).
Cartridge is available with both blue and black cases.
