By the time Challenge of the Dragon rolled around, Color Dreams had designed up the Kung Fu Game State Machine. This engine was used in games such as Challenge of the Dragon, Operation Secret Storm, and Secret Scout (ever wonder why these games are so similar?).

Challenge of the Dragon can be easily compared to Sega's Shinobi or Ninja Gaiden. Although CotD is not too difficult, it provides gamers with a nice afternoon of gaming.

It is also interesting to note that there is also a Nintendo/Famicom game released by Sachen titled Challenge of the Dragon. However, this game is not related to the Color Dreams release in any way, shape, or form.

Cartridge is available with both blue and black cases.
