With the success of Bible Adventures on the Nintendo, the folks at Wisdom Tree decided to port the game to the Sega Genesis. Wisdom Tree hired Herb Ledebohm to port the game.
Herb had the following to say about his work: "Porting BA to the Genesis was a dream come true for me since the Genesis was my favorite system at the time. The HW tools were basically a SG and an eprom programmer with a ribbon cable mated to a board that could be inserted into the SG. All was provided to me by Wisdom Tree. The big problem was that there was no debugger. I had to write my own. The code was 8-10k lines of code to be converted. In addition all of the graphics had to be converted from 8bit to 16bit. My wife and I also took that opportunity to repaint all of the gfx to take advantage of the additional colors. Vance was the overseer for the whole thing & Jim was the technical advisor since he had done Exodus already."
Little known fact (#1): Herb added a cheat into the PC/Sega versions of Bible Adventures allowing one to select any stage.
Little known fact (#2): Along with the level cheat, Herb also added an Easter Egg in the game displaying a message from the Wisdom Tree team. This is shown on a tablet.
