The Brazil NES Market (Continued)

Title: Shooting In The Alley

Maunfacturer: Falcon Soft/Gradiente

Comments: With an exciting name such as Shooting in the Alley, you would imagine that this game would be an action-packed, fast-paced game of fighting Chicago gangsters. The actual game is not nearly as interesting as it may sound, the game is just a version of Hogan's Alley.

Title: Return To Earth

Maunfacturer: Falcon Soft/Gradiente

Comments: Hmm...shouldn't that be To the Earth? And why didn't they use semi-unique artwork like they did for Shooting in the Alley? I'm sure we'll never know.

Title: Baby Boomer

Maunfacturer: Gradiente

Comments: During one period of their career, Color Dreams licensed a few games to Brazil-based company Gradiente, for publishing. The only confirmed Color Dreams title to exist is Baby Boomer, however there are rumors of a Brazil version of Captain Comic.

Title: Ghostbusters

Maunfacturer: Gradiente

Comments: This is one of Gradiente's many releases. This version of Ghostbusters sports a generic-looking box and is made specifically for the Phantom System.

Title: Super Mario Bros.

Maunfacturer: Unknown

Comments: Here we have a spiffy bright blue Super Mario Bros. cartridge, manufactured by an unknown Brazil Nintendo pirate outfit. The box design reminds me of the design that Sega had used for their Sega Master System games, interestingly enough.

Title: Tartaruga Ninja II

Maunfacturer: Unknown

Comments: Unfortunately, I've never heard of any game titled Tartaruga Ninja II. However, it may be (and probably is) a hack of some other Nintendo game released in the US.

Title: Unknown

Maunfacturer: Hydron

Comments: I had found this picture in my "archives"; unfortunately I have no idea what title this game is. The game is obviously one of the many carts made by Hydron, making it impossible to identify the specific game on this cart.

Title: Unknown

Maunfacturer: NTDEC

Comments: An unknown game, from the famous Famicom pirates NTDEC. Personally the artwork looks like something from Silent Assault, however I doubt that NTDEC would pirate that game (or obtain a license to publish it legally).

Title: Total Recall

Maunfacturer: Hydron

Comments: A good rule of thumb: don't ever ever ever pirate crappy NES games. Enough said on this Total Recall cartridge by Hydron.

Comments: Three Nintendo cartridges, Super Pitfall (ugh!), Ghostbusters, and War in the Gulf. War in the Gulf is the most interesting title, featuring a really cool case.

Comments: This batch of Famicom cartridges were made by CCE. The titles shown here are Choplifter, Contra, F1-Race, and Double Dribble.

Comments: Two more Famicom games by CCE are shown here, Brush Roller and Elevator Action. Brush Roller appears on the Caltron/Myriad 6 in 1 cartridges. Doesn't the white dude look a bit like the Yolkfolk egg-head, Dizzy? I think so. Also pictured is a generic pirate of Super Mario Bros. 3.

Comments: Two carts are shown here, 7 x 1 Radical (what the heck is this?) and F1 Race. The F1 Race cart is made by the piraters Dynacom.

Comments: The three carts shown in this picture are of Gremlins 2, Castlevania (produced by CCE), and a 16 in 1 multicart. I'd like to know what games are on that cart...

Comments: The three carts shown here are Bookyman (a CCE release? This one also appeared on the 6 in 1 Caltron/Myriad carts), Tiger Heli (a CCE release), and a 4 in 1 cartridge featuring Battle City, Pac Man, Galaza (Galaga) and Ice Climber. Pretty boring if you ask me.

Comments: Three carts are shown here. The first cart is Magic Carpet, a game which appeared on Caltron and Myriad's 6 in 1 cartridge. The second game seems to be Galaxia, and the third title is a version of Kung Fu.

Comments: This set of cartridges shows Gradiente's versions of Pac Man, Ghostbusters, and a Super 110 in 1 multicart. Gradiente's Pac Man game was licensed by Tengen, therefore it is actually a legal cartridge.

Comments: This picture shows pictures of two mysterious pirate cartridges, one produced for the Phantom System and the other for Hydron. The third cartridge is a copy of Hudson's Adventure Island game.

Comments: Three pirated carts are shown. From left to right are the Legend of Kage, Contra, and the last is Bit Corp's exclusive game, Crime Busters.

Comments: Three carts are shown, a mysterious Hydron cart, a mysterious Phantom cart, and a copy of Pro Wrestling. Don't those people look like cavemen?

Comments: Here is a group photo of several pirated Nintendo and Famicom cartridges. I like this picture, there are so many goodies calling my name.
